SalesOutlook Background

We realized there was a gap in the Market, between the peer to peer CRM capability of Microsoft Business Contact Manager and the Server based infrastructure of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This is a space that has traditionally been inhabited by products such as ACT! and Goldmine, which Nouveau Solutions Ltd evaluated extensively, but eventually rejected for the following reasons:

  1. Both of these products had evolved into CRM applications from their origins as Contact Management Systems and were never designed from inception as true CRM solutions.
  2. They are externally integrated into Outlook, so there was always some compromise required in relation to using Outlook as your primary email system.
  3. They do not use a database from the Microsoft family of applications.
  4. It is not easy to migrate their data when looking to upgrade to a platform such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  5. In regard to support, it would have been necessary to bring on new skills to our organization, when all our engineers and developers have completed Microsoft Accreditation.

Conversely, when we looked at the market for a solution that would complement our portfolio of skills and technologies, we we decided on SalesOutlook for the following reasons:

From Nouveau Solutions Ltd perspective, the decision to supply SalesOutlook provided us with the ability to easily migrate customers from using Excel, Outlook, Access, peer to peer solutions such as Microsoft Business Contact Manager, through to an Exchange Server based solution, and once they continued to grow, allow an easy migration path to Microsoft CRM Dynamics.
